MC Develops Identity for Green Workforce Coalition

Monte Consulting developed the brand identity for the California Green Workforce Coalition, a green workforce coalition based out of Los Angeles. The Coalition’s mission is to prepare the next generation of green innovators and professionals with tools such as market intelligence, collaborative resources, networks, forums, and partnerships.

During the project, Monte Consulting was challenged with creating a design tat represents the abstract nature of the coalition while ensuring that the brand message was clear and simply understood. After the market research was completed to inform the design team, MC presented the coalition with 16 logo ideations representing various forms of green principles. After rounds of customer discussion and tweaks, the final logo was refined to its final state.

The logo satisfies the entire board’s requirements due to several key factors: The word “Green” is emphasized over California, Workforce, and Coalition to immediately identify the purpose of the group. To leave no doubt, shades of green perforate the color palette of the brand, complemented by shades of gold. Arcing over the text are 5 simple marks reminiscent of solar or bio energy. The number is also intended to imply the collaboration characteristics of the coalition.
